| Welcome to the life of K-Squared! The past weekend was filled with sun, dirt, rain and wind- all in the likes of the Glen Helen GP. Saturday morning we loaded up the truck and headed out to San Bernardino to check out all of the happenings at Glen Helen. On Thursday at Comp Edge, Chad Reed mentioned that if the FIM would be willing to let him skip the sound check and run his own fuel he might actually race. So when we arrived, we searched for the Two Two Motorsports rig, but it was nowhere to be found. Turns out it was a little too much too soon for Chad… like asking someone their shoe size before you know their name. Reed just wasn’t ready, but he was still on hand to spectate and catch up with some friends. P.S. Next time you want to go incognito, don’t wear your own team hoodie, Chad. Reed’s Honda may not have been there, but the Troy Lee Designs, Lucas Oil, Red Bull Honda team rig was representing with riders Christian Craig (MX1) and Travis Baker (MX2) racing. We caught up with Travis Baker on Saturday after practice and qualifying. Check out what he had to say about the GP and the past SX season here. On Sunday, he ran into a bit of bad luck with some crashes in moto 1 finishing in 10th. In moto 2 he was running 5th, got a flat tire, had his mechanic fix it and caught back up to 16th. Not exactly the results T- Bake was looking for on the day, but it did show some people he has the speed and determination going into the 2011 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Series. Christian Craig also showed some speed at the GP. After a semi-scary crash on Saturday, Christian could be seen with medical tape around his lower back on Sunday. If he was in pain, Craig did a good job of hiding it because he finished a strong 8th the first moto and 14th the second moto. Not positive, but word on the street indicated there was a bet on the line regarding a top ten finish… we’ll have to see if we can get more on that for you! Overall, a big congrats to the TLD team for the strong showing at the Glen Helen GP. |
